The residence in the Hadar Yosef neighborhood of Tel Aviv was planned by Keren Mazor in a way that caters to her family needs and love for design.
The land plots in the neighborhood are typically narrow, and therefore the building features high ceilings and the architecture retains long vertical and horizontal lines that are expressed in the openings and windows. The use of these large windows and openings connects the house to the garden and the quiet street, and provides a sense of space to the relatively narrow structure. The ground floor is public and includes a living room, a kitchen and a dining area, which are open to the garden from three directions. The kitchen is also connected to the garden space by a counter, which penetrates through the exterior wall and connects to an outdoor BBQ island that uses materials and elements similar to those in the interior kitchen. On the first floor and in the attic are the family’s bedrooms and baths.
A composition of materials such as wood, bare concrete and metal, painted black on a white background, as well as a variety of textiles serve the interior design.
