Herman’s Bakery, Rishon LeTsion

Herman’s Bakery, Rishon LeTsion

Herman’s excellent pastries and bread were just waiting for a place to match their exceptional taste and look. Until recently, they were shown to customers in large carts, in a rather crowded place, barely lit. As fate would have it, the owners of the bakery had to move the factory and the shop to a new location that had served as a car repair shop in the past.

The Mazor Studio headed planning and redesign of the place. The project became a journey, matching materials and colors. The gray garage was converted into Herman’s new bakery. We chose to preserve the industrial atmosphere of the car repair shop, and pair it with the homey aromas of freshly baked bread.

On one hand, the industrial high ceiling and exposed systems hanging from it were preserved, as well as the iron windows, to which an extra large window overlooking the baking factory was added. At the center, a large counter was placed, where pizza is baked, food is cooked, and fresh sandwiches are assembled for the customers.

On the other hand, the homey atmosphere, beyond the smells of pastries, is reflected in a floor made of black and white tiles, green tile wallpaper reminiscent of a tablecloth, wooden furniture and display cabinets similar to residential bookcases. This combination, of homey and industrial, makes the shop a comforting place to relax and be tempted to try pastries that have just come out of the factory’s oven in the adjacent room.
